Just the other day I was talking with a friend about our singleness. It was one of those honest, "sometimes this sucks" talks. The great thing about this conversation was that it ended in both of us declaring that God has great things planned for us and as we trust and follow Him, those things will be revealed. I guess you could say that we started with a glass half empty and ended with it over flowing! I really can't imagine my life any differently and am so glad that God knows better than me!

About a year and a half ago I was going through a pretty hard time. Psalm 23 was my saving grace! One night as I was meditating on that chapter, I believe God spoke such a sweet word of comfort regarding the "valley of the shadow of death." It was just a gentle reminder that He was walking with me through the brokenness (and healing) I was experiencing. Simply said, you can't have a shadow without light. God is light. He was there with me! That piece of reassurance went deep into my soul and still gives me comfort at times.

It's always refreshing and inspiring to read your entries. Eversince I heard one of your talks when you were then Lynette Troyer you became an inspiration. I consider you a strong woman of God. Your transparency and honesty keep me coming back to his site. I sure have my "LORD, when exactly will your promises come to pass?" moment. Circumstance has its way of obscuring the vision God has given us but the verse you quoted which is close to my heart keeps me back on track.

Thanks to you. Cheers!

I too have often wondered about some of the things that have happened to me and to us as a family. Many times I only have the Lord to talk to about the things I feel. He already knows my heart so I do as David said in Psalms "to pour out our hearts to Him at all times". I also love the part where He collects every tear and puts it in a bottle. I can't tell you how many tears I have shed, not only for myself but for others that are so dear to my heart. I think that for some part I have much more empathy for others than I did when I was younger, and that has helped me to know how to pray for them. My experience has helped me to be able to bring comfort to others, to put real arms of love around others and maybe help them to see the Lord's comfort a bit clearer. But that doesn't answer the ache I have in my own heart at times. You are such a gift to me Lynette, I so appreciate your honesty and candor. You are like a drink of cool refreshing water. Thank you for being used and sensitive to the Lord and His purpose for your life.

Oh, how I needed to hear this.... There's always the nagging thought of 'what-if's'. I'm sure that was what the Israelites felt when they were wandering in the desert, but they would never have become 'rich beyond words' if that did not happen.

We are blessed beyond measure because we know a God who is always all-wise.
