Loving these cool fall mornings in NYC #churchgirls

I got choked up this morning, September 11, like I

I got choked up this morning, September 11, like I always do on this day that changed the world forever. It’s always a myriad of emotions that began 21 years ago in tragedy and remain strong, yet are now also colored with gratitude for gifts that came out of those ashes.

Lives lost can never be replaced, but as I found from losing our own beloved son to cancer, following death, God doesn’t replace but He adds.

So much has been added in the years since the towers fell, and it would take hundreds of words to outline it all. So just some encouragement here…..that anything you’ve lost that feels lost forever, is not the end of the story. The One who owns it all refuses to let evil and loss have the final say. He will recompense, comfort, and bring forth NEW….new hope, new gifts, and new levels of trust if we wait on Him.

It’s a mystery, how something so awful, devastating, and tragic, can possibly be turned for any good at all. But it has been in so many lives, like the couple we met today, who were up close and personal with the 9/11 fallout in Pakistan. They’ve endured the unthinkable and are alive to tell how God met them in their tragedies and brought them through in ways that had us wide-eyed over lunch today.

I really miss the twin towers, but the new tower is beautiful too. So we #neverforget, AND keep watching for gifts too.
