I saw this darling dress a few months back, and similar little beauties at Easter services yesterday. It showcases a simple lesson relative to doing our dreams (clearly I find a lesson in anything fashion-related!)

Someone with creativity and savvy took regular bow-tie pasta, colored them the perfect hot pink, strung them with a lovely gold chain and ta da, an over-the-top accessory that makes this dress.

Wow, how creative,” we might say, as we’re reminded of how often we miss common daily staples that with a little creativity might perk up our life if seen with new eyes.

The following quotes on creativity are favorites of mine, and illustrate essential truths about creativity:

“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.” George Bernard Shaw

“Anxiety is the handmaiden of creativity” T.S. Eliot

“Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.” Erich Fromm

“Despite a lack of natural ability, I did have the one element necessary to all early creativity: naïveté, that fabulous quality that keeps you from knowing just how unsuited you are for what you are about to do.” Steve Martin, Born Standing Up: A Comic’s Life

“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” Albert Einstein

And my personal favorite….

“To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.” Osho

Use your existing elements of work this week and do one activity that unlocks your creativity; take a few risks and imagine all the pastabilities!!
